Default Ds 650 baja!!broken shift shaft!anybody?

Went racing over the weekend and broke my shift shaft,lever and everything,I know I have to get the cases split to replace,any idea on cost???

The parts are not crazy expensive, it just the time. Are you planning to do the repair yourself ? If not I would bet you would be looking at 10 plus hours in a shop, which could add up in a hurry.

Tell me about it! call the guy I trust on atv engine repair,his name is Allen fox,his in alpine CA,he did some work on my 250r years ago,now he's pretty good on 4strkes,kind of afraid to get into this motor cause I never had one apart,but after getting a quote for $700-800 bucks parts and labor I thought about it twice,here in the forum I can get the motor from a fellow for about that!The parts I need run about $300.00 at dealer and about $150.00 on ebay. So Im gonna try to tackle this myself,just order the flywheel puller to tear into the trans,top end is apart,this is another motor I have from my 06,broken cam,pieces everywere!!!put a hole on the cam cover! ouch!Im hoping it does not need a crank,if so,i will get back to the guy with motor and buy his!
