Default 08 ds70 not real happy with it.

i have owned it for a little over a year. bought it brand new.

it is very lacking in power!!!!! im 6 foot 170 pounds and it will not move me around very well at all. i bought it for my son (he is 5) he had a Chinese 110 before and then i moved him up to this. i thought Chinese 110 hp would be very close to the ds70 man was i off!!! the 110 will blow the 70 out of the water with me on the 110 and my son (40 pounds) on the ds70, is this normal?

i am at 5000 feet but i bought it from a store that is even higher so i would think they would have jetted it right.

my buddy has a yamaha 90 for his little girl and the 70 can not even begin to hang with it???

did i get a lemon or they just no good?

the throttle is opened all the way, i think it is in the clutching bc you have to give it way to much throttle to make it move?

any help would be great, my son wants to race it this summer and he will get stomped with it like it is?

I was told by the dealer close to me that that machine was slow. He suggested the Honda 90 though it was much more expensive. I took the seventy for a test drive with similar results as you. Sorry

You're confused why a ds70 won't move your 170, 6 foot body???? The piston in my husky chainsaw motor is bigger!

I'm 170 and my sons 110 hardly moved me when it was new- time to upgrade to a larger motor-

My son outgrew the chinese 110 cc at 7- I don't know what kind of power you're looking to get from a ds70 you might want to lower your expectations a bit.

Upgrade to a 250, any 250 would be nice, then when your son gets older give it to him.
