Default Max owners - tell me about your machine

I'm looking at 2up quads, partially for use on my farm, partially to hit up the E KY and WVA trails. Farm is all steep hills, lots of limestone rocks, so good ground clearance is very important. Farming is hardwood and ginseng, so I have to get into some pretty inaccessable locations. A quad is priceless for that - doesn't tear up the ground like a truck will.

Owned a Cat 500 for the last 8 years, and it's been nearly indestructable, but my local Cat dealer just closed shop, so no easy parts availability. But, there's a Can-Am dealer locally, which got me to looking at the Max. Pretty impressive machine.

Is there a front end locker? Need that for pulling trailers of cut hardwood out of a creekbed, it always lifts a front wheel.

Can you replace the rear seat with a rack? I saw the cargo box, but it's kinda hard to strap a chainsaw mount to that.

Any comments on durability? A few years ago when the Max first came out, I read some comments about the frame bending after a minor impact. Was that just smack talk?

Finally... are there deals to be had on old stock 08 or 09 machines? I've just started looking at them, and haven't really seen any.

Im kindof late here but check out can-amforum.com also.

The rear cargo box is huge and you can fit a chain saw in side of it.

Or check out a product called saw grip for a saw mount.
