Default Need some DS650 help! :)

Hi, im new to atvconnections forums. I have a DS650 2000, and just recently after it run it ofr a little while and it gets hot the Anti freeze starts leaking out of the bottle from the cap and the front of the bike starts steaming. At first i thought i didnt have enought antifreeze so i changed it and put in some new antifreeze but its still doing it. Do you guys have any ideas on whats going on?

check to see if the fan is coming on. problems with the fan motor or relay are very common.

Yep i checked that this morning and the fan is working fine, Ive been told it could be the the water pump or my gaskets are finished, i chek my main gaskets and they seem fine from the outside. Would you happen to know were the water pump is ? thanks

Someone else had a similar problem which looks to be the radiator clogged with dried mud on te outside. Not saying thats whats wrong with yours but something to look at. I first started thinking the fuse for the fan, but you said that was working fine so maybe just start fresh. I would drain the cooling system completely, pull the thermostat and test it to see that it is opening at the correct temperature. Instead of just filling it with water, look up how cold it gets in your area, put the minimum amount of antifreeze required for your area, pick up some water wetter and add that to the coolant and fill the rest with distilled water. This is pretty much the best you can get for coolant. There is some other type of coolant called engine ice, however i have no coment on it because i have never used it. If it still overheats you may want to pull the head, have it checked for warpage and replace the gasket. As far as the pump you should be able to pull the rad cap and look inside with the engine running and once the thermostat opens you should be able to see the coolant moving around in there. here is a pic of the weephole tube and some info.
