06 ds650 clutch lever wire?

Default 06 ds650 clutch lever wire?

I have an 06 ds650x and would like to get a new clutch lever for it but i am unsure as to what the wire that goes into the clutch lever does and if i need the wire can someone please help me?

it is the safety switch that won't let you start the bike without the clutch pulled in. I believe you connect the two wires if you get a new clutch lever but that will bypass the safety. The quad will then start without the clutch pulled in.

ok my bike already starts with the bike in neutral without the clutch pulled in but i think i will be ok without it though thank you anyone else that has a say let me know

The wires let you start the bike in gear with the clutch pulled in. They all start in neutral without pulling in the clutch. If you put the wires together and hit start the bike will engage the starter even if its in gear and not care whether or not you have the clutch pulled in.
