07 Can am outlander ?'s
#1
I'm a newbie here so please take it easy on me. Very nice site also, seems very informative. I've done some searching and having difficulty finding a solution for my problem.
I have a 07 500 H.O.can am outlander. I don't do much trail riding just use it mainly for work around our small farm. I am having issues with high temp light coming on and a lot of heat. Now these issues arise when I'm using a self powered pull behind DR Field & Brush mower(rough cut). I barely hit 5 mph and have atv under a load on somewhat hilly ground.
Is there anything I can do to make this machine run cooler so I can work it without having to stop all the time to let it cool down. I have cleaned the radiator & it is free of dust & dirt. As far as I can tell it seems to be intact, no warping of any kind. When high temp light does come on I immediately stop and let machine idle until it cools down then park it in the shade for a while.
I have read about engine ice for the radiator. Would this possibly help?
I am open to any & all advice. Thanks in advance.

ive got an 07 500 also and we found that the radiator was swollen shut on it. it had expanded so much that air flow could not get through even with the fan on. id take a look at it. If you can see through it,its fine. If you cant then id have it checked out. use a light if you need to.

After closer inspection I see the fins in the middle of the radiator are swollen & have the vertical fins compressed.
I seen a picture of a new radiator on ebay and it did not look like the 1 in my machine. I'll be checking on a replacement tomorrow. Thanks for the response.
