Default 2000 ds650 neutral light wire

I just bought a 2000 ds650 and I'm trying to fix it up. The neutral light wire was grounded to the battery, so the light was always on. I read that the wire goes to a bolt by the oil filter. I cannot for the life of me find the correct spot to attach this wire. Could someone please post a pic of where the wire goes? Thanks in advance

Sorry I can't do a pic for you right now but if you look right in front of your oil filter and follow the wire down you will see where it is normally bolted. It is a small yellow wire with a black shield on it. If the wire is not there at all to follow then look to the front of the case guard and behind the stator cover. There will be two bolts very close together, one on the sprocket cover and one on the stator cover, a little bit higher than your brake pedal lever but below those two bolts. It's small and you may need a flashlight.
Let us know...

Welcome to the forums.

Thank you so much. With that info I was able to find it. The wire wasn't hooked up, and the bolt to hold it was missing. Thanks again, all is good and working now.

these things arent like lawn mowers where one normally doesnt change the oil or clean the air filter.they do require periodic maintenance, get yourself a manual, theres a lot of stuff to learn on these machines especially considering this is your first atv.y not a 250ex or polaris trail blazer for starters...lol
