DS650 Stalled now won't start
#1
My 03 DS650 (stock) has been running fine and I was riding it around the neighborhood last week when I left it in my driveway running to burn off some old gas while I cleaned out the garage when the bike suddenly died out and will no longer start. I killed a fully charged battery just trying to start it. Just will not turn over sounds like when you try to start it but forget the kill switch is on.
The plugs are brand new, the valves were adjusted just a few months ago fresh oil, oil filter and air filter.
Even with the choke half way out or full it doesn't start.
Thanks, in advance for suggestions.

The first thing I would look at is fuel. check to make sure that the float didnt stick, and also check the fuel tank to make sure the vent line isnt plugged. If you were burning off old gas any chance some gunk may have clogged the valve? Just some thoughts off the top of my head. Any time my bike just dies like while ideling I know it is a fuel issue. The lectron after sitting for a little bit likes to have the float stick. (clear bowl saves me lots of headache). Get a charge on the battery and throw some starting fluid at it that will at least get you to the next step.

I disconnected the gas line, drained the stale gas, sprayed the carb with cleaner, refilled with new gas and fired her right up. Purring like a kitten again.
Thanks for the suggestions.
