Default Chain Question

Ok, so I think I pulled an idiot move. I bought a RK 530 X-RING Chain with 110 links (which I read on here was stock length. am I right?) and the rivet type master link, a 15t primary drive front and 40t primary drive rear sprocket. So I put the sprockets on and then put the chain on. And for some stupid reason I happened to overlook the chain slack. It is pretty bad. I tried adjusting the chain slack but it didnt help much. It still has at least 3 1/2 inches of slack. So does anyone know how I can fix this? I dont understand how I order what was supposed stock length and it has that much slack.
Also, if i have to buy a new chain, can I get a 520 instead of 530? just wondering.

You can get a clip master link from Rocky Mountain for that chain, you have to cut a few links off to fit. I just did the same combo myself.

What year is your DS? I have the late model swing arm and can count the links I cut off if you want.

Yes, have the ends meet on the rear sprocket. You do not want to cut to many links LOL. Been there, done that.

My link count will not be that same as I have a new shorter swing arm on my DS.

You can use the link it should have came with its a rivet type instead of clip...allot better just cut measure and pound the rivet flat

I already put the rivet in though. but its already done and fixed. works great now with my high comp piston, HMF slip on, big gun CDI, new sprockets, and jet kit.
