DS 650 v.s. Raptor 660

Let me reply to each of you one at a time.
SykoQuadRider-I say that the Rotax motor in the DS has more hop up potential because I've seen it. The motor has been around since '94 and raced both in the dual sport ranks and road racing. Over 100hp without nitrous or turbo is possible[and not all that hard at that]. I presently have a 760cc version that puts out around 80 hp[I'll have exact dyno #'s soon].
pudjumper-I've raced many a moded Raptor, and to date, none have even come close. One of them had a 10 to 1 piston and custom ground cams and he didn't seem to me to run much better than the standard piped and jetted Raptors.
300exSTER-Ron Woods is the only american maker of performance parts, but I've looked into the European market. I'm happy to say that I now bring Team Pami high performance part for the rotax motor in our DS's to America. They offer 3 levels of performance, similar to Woods, but each level is higher than the comperable Woods level. A different aproach is taken to acheve these levels as well. I agree that we do not have all the options that the Raptor will have, but now we do have a choice at least.
Bartman-You are right, the more units out there, the more R&D manufacturers will put out. But that works to our favor right now. This motor has been in 10's of thousands motorcycles all over the world since it's release in 94. It's only here in America that we are just starting to notice it.
If anyone is intrested in seeing a break down of the Team Pami kits and products visit there web site at www.team-pami.de . They have an english link so you will be able to read it. If anyone has questions or orders, please feel free to e-mail me. There pricing is in German funds for there European customers but I will convert for orders. Please direct your ?'s to my e-mail as they only have one person to answer your questions in english and he gets his quad aplication information from me. Thanks

The Raptor is the reason I sold my DS.I raced many Raptors in a drag races and never came close to beating any of them, from a stand still aor on a roll. The DS is just to much of a tank for any type of MX track, and is like a brick in the air and is not as nimble through the woods.I should be gettin my Raptor soon,Thanks Yamaha!!

I hope that you have recieved the responce that I sent when you first e-mailed me. I have responded again. If there is any problem with you recieving it, please respond here again and we will work something out. Sorry if there were any "crossed wires".

Sorry but, if what you said is true, either you don't know how to ride (and the Raptor isn't any easier), or your DS was broken, or the Raptors were state-of-the-art with mods and stuff.
I have never lost a drag race with a Raptor. Even slightly modded ones.
But in my opinion you never had a DS and you are just making us loose our time here.

Once you get done sinking $3000+ into your Raptor in order to get the suspension up to DS standards, It will be so sad to see someone from my home town have to buy a new frame when it folds from trying to handle the big air. I've talked to one of the test riders from a leading magazine, and he informed me that every Raptor that he has ridden has bent or broken a frame. I sure hope you enjoy your Raptor.

This is funny,i didnt wanna start a flame hear.If any of you havent ridden a raptor yet ,i urgre you.I rode my friends when he first got his and was so much better than my old DS,its just the way it is folks. And i wont have to spend no 3k for my suspension, when its far superior to start with, more travel doesnt mean better, especially when its so unresponsive compared to the Raptors.Besides Bombardier doesnt even have their own motor in there quad,so you should ease up on yamaha ,at least they can make their own motors. So say what you all will,if your happy with yours,be happy
