ok so, I just checked and I still have my throttle stop on my can-am outlander- I screwed it all the way in- and gave the throttle 1/16-
rpm's up to around 3500 and my top speed was around 13 mph riding in the back yard. Not as quick off the line either- but, there was also very little power to crawl over my dirt berms... I turned the stop out to 1/4" - was a whole lot quicker and a little more power obviously, rpm up to 4800 +/-.
The problem is- if you turn the 800 down to the point she'll be comfy with it, then you'll have to stay on flat ground or in low gear to get up even a moderate hill... but, I guess it would get her used to the feel of the atv.

so- I suppose you could use the throttle stop and adjust it for her level- just bring a screwdriver with you for the hills
