2005 ds650x oil/temp light

Exclamation 2005 ds650x oil/temp light

the light on my ds wouldnt turn off my oil is full my coolant is full i changed that after the light shut after about 2 hours of riding but i just wanted know why it was on for the future. it was runnnig cooler than normal for awhile too.

I've had that same problem after changing oil. It seems like there is an oil sensor connected to the engine that should be cleaned once in a while. Mine wen't off a few hours of riding after my previous oil change. It's been over a year now and the light has not come on. I wouldn't worry about it.

Pull the plug off of the sensor, hit it with compressed air, smear a little dielectric grease in there, replace plug, then RTV the top where the wires go in to the plug.
Water has a way of getting in there, especially if you use a pressure washer.
