Default 07 ds 650 need help fast please

Hoping somebody can help have a 07 ds650 that will not rev over 4000 rpm while it is running it also backfires like it hitting rev limiter . Was out riding today an it ran great for half the day then wouldn't rev over 4000 rpm let it sit for 15 min. Started it up an it was good to go for a couple hours . Then it did it again this time has not stopped doing it. Im leaving for Tennessee in two weeks riding need to get any parts asap that i may need..Does anybody have any idea what it could be or what i should replace??? Any info greatly appreciated... thank you

Just speculation here but have you checked valve lash? Does it seem like electrical or internal? Possibly cdi box

Hello, I would suggest to check your carb, specially the jettings and needle. It may need some cleaning or replacement. Next would be your ignition system your coil pack and spark plug.

ive noticed if i had my gas turned off (you could have a restricted fuel flow) it would start and idle fine, but when you gunned it, it would do as you said and sound lean, not reving up, cracking and popping, i would check your fuel flow to the carb, then clean the carb if your getting good flow

Try a different battery. and check to make sure the main jet isn't plugged.

Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. The ignition will not advance on a DS if it does not have full battery power.
