I'v got a RW pipe and rev box with stock carb. Every one says it makes a huge differance with a different carb. Is RW my only choice? How is that carb, has anyone have any problems? OzzyDS, I notice you have a 45mm Mikuni Flatside. Did you get it through Woods? How much?? What is Team Pami's Carb like, Is it duals, and how much??

Thanks, Hall650

i have woods carb and it's the best i've seen, i have the accelerator pump and k&n filter on the carb, also put a vortex throttle on it to open it up with less twisting, i cut the return spring down 3/4 of a loop for easy twist. pics at ds650andraptor.homestead.com/index.html

Team Pami offers two different carbs for the DS. I recomend the 40MM TM series carb for mild motors and the 45MM for more heavily modified motors. The 45 showed a considerable loss of low and mid power while not improving throttle responce over the stock CV carb on motors that did not flow much more than stock. The 40MM showed wonderfull torque and throttle responce on these motors, while only a slightly lower peak HP than the 45MM. Either carb is good for it's intended purpose, the choice it up to the customer.

Just a little question, does the pre-EFI BMW F650 have dual carbs? if so will they fit around the frame and exhaust on a DS? Just wondering, cause 2 medium size carbs are a helluvalot more responsive that a big single carb. And BMW prices are not much different to Bombardier prices (over here anyway).

now wait a minute, if you put the accelerator pump on the 45mm carb there is no hesitation at all, the response is as good or better than stock, and mine is torquie *** hell.

I will go with the Edelbrock QwikSilver carburetor and Alba Pie. It should have a thumb throttle I sent mine to Edelbrock so they can have the cable made. The QS will only work with the Alba pie and slip on due too not enough clearance for the accelerator pump on the other pipes. The other pipe makers due want to see it cause they are just about a 1/2 too 3/4 of an inch off. I just have not been able to due this cause my DS has been side line for 2 month’s cause I sent my rear shock to TCS for a rebuild and new front shock. TCS had a supply problem with springs. They said UPS had my shocks on Friday so I hope to have them today.

The cost on the 40MM carb is $270. I initially tryed it with the thumb throttle, but the spring was way to stiff.

Without modifying the frame at least, the dual carbs will not fit.

Knuts,
What is the exact Carb you suggest with my pipe. I need one to give power all throgh RPM's. Right now I am keeping up with 426ex's and 440ex's. How much more will this give me over stock? How much money if I get it from you? Do I need to change Intake.
