Hi all, looking into an 08 ds70. Clearly from the little info that's out there, they were dogs from the factory in terms of power. But it sounds like theres the few simple mods to get by that. Overall how is the quality/reliabilty of the bike? I keep reading about the power not being there but not many stories about it being a bad bike overall.

Also, one big question I can't seam to answer is after installing the ds90 throttle cable. Some folks jetted the carb but others said there was 5 settings on the carb and adjusting it from 1 to 5 was all they did. Can anybody confirm/deny that the carb setting is legit?

 

You heard correct. Slow as molasses.
To get them to go faster would take a lol of money, and it still isn't going to be vary fast.
On reliability, I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

 

Thanks LT. I made the decision to stay away. The hunt continues... very hard finding something used and in good shape by me that doesn't sell in minutes...literally.
