I was wondering what type of sand tires are the best for the DS, curved or flat paddles. I am running 22" holeshot XCT's now and can still pick up the front end from a stop in second while leaning over the bars. Should I get 20 or 22" sand tires?

Graydon exhaust, rev box, and steering dampner
Holeshot XCT's front and rear

Strait paddle tires will provide better strait line traction, but will make turning slightly harder. Your quad will be more likely to understear, or push with strait paddles.

As a gereral rule, the taller the tire, the better the traction. A 22" tire will allow the paddles on it to stay in the sand for longer than the tigher radius from a 20" tire.

With those being said, I had a set of 22" Scat-Trac Haulers with 10 paddles. That was untill I found out that Scat-Trac does not recomend the Hauler for the DS as the heft and torque of our quad has been known to tear the paddles. They currently recomend there 9 paddle edge tires instead. Scat-Trac is currently developing a new paddle design for heavy, hi-torque quads, that will not tear under our heavy loads. Although this new paddles is not out yet, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

jeffnrivercity there are 18 and I hade them cut. they also have a comp cut where the cut the tire all most to the cords to save weight. I have not tried Hauler but I have Sand Skate II and a set of Padla Brats with 9 paddles and the stagger cut is like a combo of the two real good forward drive but I can break them lose and slide them. They due not slide as will as the Sand Skates but I due not have let off the gas to turn them as I due with the straight paddles.
