will an LT500 Zilla beat a DS?
#1
My brother bought a quadzilla, with pipe and silencer on it/ boost bottle. and reeds. bored to a 520...
will a DS even touch it? the owner claimed that neither a raptor or a DS would touch it.
we are wondering before we actually go out hunting.
thanks

My dad had a 87 zilla that was bored .080 over, fmf fatty pipe, power core silencer, ported, ram valve. At the time it was bored .060 over.He blew it up the day he raced 2 ds's
Well he won everytime. It was funny I looked at the guy and pointed at my dad.The guy shrugged his shoulders.Well everyone took off and it was a 370 banshee, then my dad then a couple other shee's then the 2 ds's.
I was way back with all the 400ex's.(there was about 15 bikes racing)My 250r was stock at the time.Anyway the ds's where also This was before they where even in dirtwheels. So there was no mods for them yet. They are quick. But there is no dealer's around here with them so I won't be getting one.
86 trx250r wiseco .020 piston,boyesen reeds,low-mid porting,fmf gold series fatty pipe,power core 2 silencer,Dg alloy series nerfs,jd performance +2 A-arms,durablue eliminator 2+2 adjustable width axle,durablue posi loc axle nut,white bro's white power shocks with adjustable piggy back fronts,white power rear shock with adjustable res,Ac stadium series bumper with # plate,renthal trx250r bend handlebars,909 grips,PEP easy pull clutch perch and lever,d.i.d chain,jt pro series rear sprocket,pro design kill switch,nac's casesaver,uni filter,fastline braided steel brake lines,braking brake pads,polished stator cover-throttle cover-kick starter-brake res cover,18/11/8 holeshot mx's on mitchell .190's,21/7/10 holeshots on ITP .190's

An LT500 weighs 70 pounds less and produces 10+ HP more bone stock and the Zilla responds very well to a pipe and silencer. The top speed Bone stock on the DS is 71 where its 79 on the Zilla and increases significantly from there with re-tuning mods.I am becoming increasingly more fond of the DS as time goes on and I don't mean any insult to the owners, but the Zilla was one BAD machine.

I raced a LT500 at Sand Mountain NV.we ran the hill 3 times and my DS took him by at least 5 or 6
quad lengths every time, after the last race he took his helmet off in disgust!! and said what the f**k!! I usally beat those things(as in DS650s).I was running a Ron Woods stage 2 at the time, and he was piped and had some other minor motor work done,we both had straight paddles
I seem to have more of a problem with the modified banshees 50% of the time they kick my butt, hopefully the 760 kit will make it a little closer

Actually he was racing the 370 banshee when it blew. They where racing in chat(like sand)My dad was running 20/12/10 blackwaters and the ds's where running stock tires.Alot of the shee's had paddles.
The 370 shee was the fastest qaud I have ever seen!It could wheelie away and make all other bikes look like they where standing still. He was tearing 3rd gear out of it.He changed it that day at in parking lot!(using all my dad's tools)But hey that is what fellow rider's are for!
