quest 650!
#1
hey i just saw an add today for the quest 650 here at the ATV connection. i don't know if this is old or new news but the last i heard we didn't know anything about it other that we thought it would be a 650 and thought the name would be quest.

yea i saw that ad today too, and was taken by surprise. i didn't even know they were thinking about a new quad. So i went to the Bombardier site and checked it out. they claim it is a "sport ute" but it is like over 750 lbs, i think. other than the 150cc increase in the powerplant, it is pretty much the exact same as the traxter. the xt verion of the quest has this ugly plate over the engine or something.. but other than that it looks pretty good. i just can't wait to see what yamaha is brewing to compete with these +500cc beasts!! performax, This new Quest may be ugly to you. But think before you blast it. Everytime a company introduces somthing new they are forcing all the others to improve there lineup with new and better quads! Bombardier is just trying to answer to the Prarie 650, as I'm sure all the others will also. Remember that when the new Grizzlie comes out, it wouldn't be here if not for the others raising the stakes! I feel sorry for those who are diehard brand loyal. every quad out there has it good and bad points. As far as I'm concerned the only bad quad is one that doesn't run! Just somthing to think about.

I heard that the Quest has been in the "works" for almost a year now. I posted about a month ago wondering what it was going to look like. I was told "kinda like a Traxter." Apparently different colors means different design. It's sad Bombardier chose to enter the big class right after Kaw. released their v-twin. Thems some big shoes to follow. I'm sure it will be fine though. The Traxter 500's are un-stoppable so far. No one else has come close to it's 4-wheel drive capabilities and reliability. And if you think they are ugly, tell that to the face of the Traxter or Quest driver that's towing your sorry *** back to the trailer.

The Quest weighs in at 760 lbs, has a TOTALLY new motor (SINGLE overhead cam motor instead of a dual overhead cam DS650 motor or an Overhead vavlve Traxter motor), a belt driven CVT trans, 25" front tires and 26" rears, and the weiredest colors I have seen on an ATV so far.
