Hi all!

I am wondering if the ds650 would be too much bike for me?
I am 5'7" and about 175 lbs. I would be coming from a Wolverine.
(I was really hoping for a 660 Wolverine!!)
I want something I can keep for a long time and not worry about more power.

Any differences between 2000 models to 2002 models?

Thanks

I hear there's alot of steering problems if you are under 190lbs, it may not seem like alot but it is, my recommendation would be a 400ex, it's about the right size for a 5'7 guy, but I love my raptor and i weight 180 and am 6 fo0t, and would fit a smaller rider just fine.

Well jeez, you sound like Raptor material to me. Now that the 2002's are out with new gears what's not to like? The DS is big and heavy, good for big and heavy guys, Kinda like the Big and Tall ATV store. Now I think there are a lot of things about the DS that are better than the Raptor, besides just size, but it has a 60 lb weight penalty and no reverse. The DS has two cams and one carb, that is better than one cam and two carbs. The DS has style, class, sophistication, almost euro-chic, like a Ducati. It is rock solid, and already has the +2 A-arms, axle and swing-arm that all the Raptors and 400EX's want. But the Raptor jumps, wheelies, MX's and tight woods better.
That 660 Wolverine may come yet. Maybe that will be next year's Doozey. We're still a little stunned by the new Grizzly.
I hope they keep the I.R.S. for the 660 Wolverine.

Looks like your coming from the 4X4 scene...Hmmm!!! The DS650 is one bad machine and if that's what your mind is set on, then be like Nike and just by that sucker!!! On top of that in my opinion; for the price in my area for a 01 $5999.00 it's the best deal around for the big-boys toys!!!

HI All

Thanks for all the replies.

Your right I am coming from the 4X4 scene. I am keeping the Wolv for my wife.
I thought about the new 660 Grizzly but I don't want a big heavy utility quad. I like 4X4 but I will give it up for speed and suspension if I have to.
The only other thing I give up is shaft drive but I get more power with a chain I just have to get used to maintenance again.
Decisions Decisions
Raptor or DS650
sounds like Raptor would fit me better but from what I've read less problems with the Bombadier.
Have a great day!

I would like to say everyone has their own opion on what they like to ride. My husband did not mean to say he would rather push his ds than ride a raptor. I could have had a ds just like him, but then I would have gone crazy to waste my money on it. I believe last time we rode my spark plug did not have to be change to get it to start. I will keep my RAPTOR, and by the way tell anyone that wants a real quad to buy a RAPTOR. I hope everyone enjoys riding
