Killer deal???

Well, as you can tell by my user I.D. I was (am) a Raptor fan, and have been considering a new Raptor for about a year, but wanted all of the bugs worked out of them first. However, I just stumbled across a dealer that has a "few" brand new 2000 DS650's and is selling them for $4999 + fees and tax. Assuming the fees aren't ridiculous, do you think this would be a great deal? If so, maybe I will go for a DS instead of the Raptor. Let me know what you all think.

I must say that is one hell of a deal. I think that he book value on the 2000 DS is like 5800 or something like that. 800 bucks will get you enough mods to make the DS really move. The best part is you will have a new DS with mods for less than the price of a 2001 DS or raptor. I'd go for it.

I just bought one a couple of weeks ago for 6.4 Large, out the door. That included a $1,000 factory rebate and I got it financed through Bombardier for 6.9%. If they can get it to you out the door for that, or less you aught to go for it. Let us know if you get it and what kind of deal you get out of them. Good luck

Thanks for the input. I am going to check it out tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I can keep them from trying to screw me on the freight and set up fees. TRXter, wow, you got 6.9%....that is smokin'!!! I hadn't planned on financing it thru Bomb., but if I can get 6.9.....I will. If successful, I guess a new screen name will be in order......

I paid $5800 for my 2001 DS. $6300 otd. If I could have gotten a 2000 for $4999 and no hidden charges, I think I wold have gone for it. Like DSaholic said, you will have PLENTY of money left over for mods. Most Raptors are $6495 and no dealing. With that difference, you could put a Ron Wood Stage 1 kit. Imagine racing a stock Raptor with that bike and then telling the Raptor owner you paid the same as him! If it's a legitimate offer, you can't lose. In two years you could probably get close to that price for it used! I'd certaily take advantage of it. Later

Hey guys~
I just stopped at the Bombardier dealer this afternoon and found out about the offer going on now. Dealer wants 6500 OTD plus $1000 rebate check. That's on a brand new 2001 model! The deal goes until October 1st or until all 2001 models are sold out. Now sure seems like the time to buy!

Well I checked it out today. Yes $4999 for a new 2000 DS650, but this dealer was a little elusive about giving me an O.T.D. price. He wouldn't tell me exactly what the freight and set up fees were, unless I wrote them out a deposit check, then he said he would deal.....so I left, and stopped by a more local dealer.....without any negotiating, he told me $6200 O.T.D. for a 2001 model, with no freight or set up fees.....and I think I could probably get it for $6000 O.T.D. However, WISCRAMBLER said he was quoted $6500 O.T.D. for a 2001 plus the $1000 rebate.....That means $5500 O.T.D.!!!! Maybe I will keep looking.....incidently, the 2nd dealer I went to said $6500 O.T.D. for a new 2001 Raptor. So what does everyone think now???
