Just added rezzies to my Works Steelers
#1
Like anything you haven't done before, I was a little apprehensive about doing the shock service needed to install rezzies. Probably the 250 psi Nitrogen charge is the spooky part. But it was $60 and a turnover time at works, and the local shop charges $49 each. But the local shop only charges $9/shock for a nitrogen charge. Well it's got to be a couple of pennies worth of nitrogen, but they have the fittings and I don't. (Sandy at works told me I could use Argon, which I have for aluminum welding, but I don't have the fittings)
......Anyway, the instructions from Works were good, I used most of the quart of fork oil I got from Works, I should have bought a "shock wrench" but I managed by filing the little flat spots like it says in the shock service instructions.
.......Filling the new setup was the trickiest part. Filling the rezzy through the shock body, pushing the bladder into the oil and overflowing it into a coffee can. Then filling up the shock and getting all the air out before sealing it back up. Then clean up the mess and off to the shop for a shot of Nitrogen.
Can't wait to try it out. I'm also messing with some new spring combinations. I am trying the 175# main springs again.
