A friend (from the US) was in Canada last week, and dropped by a dealership. He has been interested in a Traxter and asked them to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. He got a Traxter 500 for $4,500 US out the door. He is a US resident, so there is no tax. He has a retirement home in Canada, and will be keeping the bike up there. US customs said (because of NAFTA) he can import the bike to the US duty free. The dealer said he sells a fair number of bikes to US residents.

 

A couple of years ago four guys from town drove to Whitehorse, Yukon to buy 4 MX Z 600's when they first came out. They said they saved enough money that it made the trip worth while even with gas and lodging. Distance round trip I think was around 1000-1500 miles! The machines were equipped with speedos that only read in KM, so that kind of sucked but is to be expected.

If a guy does buy from Canada jsut make sure to check out the duty situation. I'm no expert but I know somethings are duty free and some are not. I think it mostly pertains to alcohol and cigs.

That would come, in some occasion, with promotion that would include a winch and 3 years warranty. If your are not citizen of Canada, I thing that you can also get away with the sale taxe.
