I am having a problem with my 2000 DS 650. When cold it does not run very good. it acts like there is a rev limiter at 1500 RMP. It cuts out for about the first half hour (bad). I have cleaned the tank, carb, petcock, all vents. I have checked the ignition switch, the kill switch, and am ready to set it on fire, (I do have full coverage). Has anyone out there had a problem with the igintion that sounds like this? If so please respond with a fix so I can enjoy next weekend at Gordens.

Sounds like a loose igniton coil wire. The connectors MUST be VERY tight so that they do not wiggle around.

While you're at it, check that the spark plug caps are screwed into the spark plug wires firmly.

Also a good idea to re-ground the coils by tightening the bolts that mount them to the frame.
