Quest 650
#1
A few questions for you Quest 650 owners.
1.How is the clearance, I noticed that the hitch is pretty low and looks like you could get hung up very easy.
2. Is the belt drive better the the electric shift model, is it sluggish and is the 650 faster than the 500 traxter.
3.How does it go through mud and muskeg with those stock tires.
4.How many miles can you go on a tank of gas on the average.
5.They appear to be very well made, the weight is not an issue for me.
6. Have you had any problems minor or major.
Thanks for your time.

I have had no problems with ground clearance under the quest. The hitch is low, but so far it has not got hung up on anything. The Traxtor/Quest has an excellent heavy duty skid plate (that I have used a few times ). I purchased the full length skid plate that Bombardier offers because I was a little concerned about clearance, but I'm not sure I will need it.

I can't comment on the Traxtor 500, but the CVT on the Quest is very good - instant power and good accelleration. The Quest is not as quick off the mark as the Grizzly or Prairie but it has good top end, and the top speed is similar to the Grizz and Prairie.
3.How does it go through mud and muskeg with those stock tires.
The stock tires are not very good. They will do fine for general riding, but for alot of mudding I would upgrade the rubber.
4.How many miles can you go on a tank of gas on the average.
Depends on the terrain, etc. but I get about 8 hours of riding with the main tank (w/o touching the reserve). You will run longer than anyone else that you are riding with (except other Quests/Traxtors!)
5.They appear to be very well made, the weight is not an issue for me.
These things are built like a tank. The construction quality is excellent and the engineering & innovation outstanding. I really like having the radiator mounted high in the rear and the front differential is amazing. You don't really appreciate how good it is until you ride with it.
6. Have you had any problems minor or major.
Nothing major. I have a low leak from my front left tire (to be expected from the crappy stock trailwolfs), I have been waiting for some accessories that are on back-order from Bombardier (Quest specific accessories are still hard to find) and I don't really like the windshield that comes with the XT package (I find it gets in the way when I'm going up steep hills).
I'm VERY happy with my Quest 650XT. I would have rather had the base 650 (I like the Blue color better), but for the price of the base 650 plus winch I could get the 650XT that includes a winch, handguards, windshield, chrome rims, heavy-duty front and rear bumpers, dual pattern seat. I have added just about every accessory made for the Quest, including front & rear rack extensions and rack bags, roller fairlead, fender protectors, center console bag, GPS mount, CV boot guards, full length skidplate, front storage bag. I would consider the following as "must have" accessories: fender protectors, CV boot guards, roller fairlead. I don't really use the front rack extension/bag because it hinders access to the front storage compartment. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding the Quest, either by posting the questions on any of the above mentioned communities or via email (you can get my email from my profile).
Cheers,

Wolfman, I own a Quest and i LOVE it! It has excellant engine breaking and plenty of power in hi or low range. I had it in some mud yesterday. You can see some pics of the Quest if you copy then paste the URL in my signature to the loaction bar. The ground clearance on my Quest is pretty good, about 11 inches with 27" Dirt Devils in the front and 28 inchers on the rear and a lift kit. The Quest is MUCH faster than the traxter. It has around the same top speed as the Kawi 650, Grizz 660, and Sp 700, which is around 67mph. By the way it will beat any of those other quads in a longer race. The Quest is built much more rugged than any other brand out there. It really is a beast. I'm glad to hear that the weight is not an issue for you. I feel the wieght gives the Quest an edge in traction and stability. The Visco-Lock works exceptionally well, better than any other all wheel drive system . Hope this helps
