Thanks BigJon,
Almost didnt get a reservation at a local RV park, got the last 2 one for me and one for Greg(has the banshee & Blaster)
We will play it by ear from there,on whether we trek out onto the beach with the motorhomes or have our friends tow our quads in.
Later

Well got some bad news, all of the people I was going to caravan down with cancelled due to bad weather and other reasons. There was an injury accident with my friend who is down there already, his girlfriend flipped a quad at high speed and needed stiches in her leg. So now I am thinking of pussing out and just staying home on the couch for the duration of the weekend. I will give you a call on your cell phone if I change my mind after work. Sorry.

Jon

well my plans had changed again and we did go to glamis. all i can say is AWESOME. we were down there the 26th-31st. Sunny to mostly cloudy and about 5 minutes of sprinkles with lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's. Weather couldnt have been better. TONS of people there. The BLM estimate was about 50,000. Robby Gordon, the nascar driver was there with some sweet off road trucks and sand rails. I got some cool pictures of me in the sand drags, jeff you would have loved it. Couldnt have asked for a better time. Sean

Sean,I know one of these days I will make it down that far.
BigJon, good to see you made it,the night time fence ride was cool!
Nick ended up staying another day,so we did the fence ride 3 1/2 more times the next day ***** out(man I am sore)Stopped by your camp Monday, but looked like you were out riding.
Left the beach about 10 or 11 pm Monday night, and at the second entrance looked like there was ranger in hot pursuit of some a-hole,the ranger(from what I could make of it)rammed the guys mini truck pretty hard. The rangers expedition was wasted! When we drove by they had the guy face down with guns drawn. It was like watching COPS the tv show. Not sure what it was all about, did you here about it?

No didnt hear or see that one, too bad. Yeah it was a nice weekend. The sand was tore up but if you stayed on the perimeter run it wasnt bad. I am pretty worked over that run too. Lots of hip height whoops. We ended up leaving pretty early New Years day morning.

There was a Ron Woods stage 1 and stage 3 Ds at comp hill monday, they were running the hill pretty even, seemed kinda strange, you would think the stage 3 would have kicked a$$ the rider on the stage 1 was alot bigger too.The stage 1 had real different looking pipe on it,the tip was kind of inverted looking like an fmf tip but round(not oval)any body seen a pipe like this? Might of been a RW pipe with a different tip,Looked cool.

Had a great time. I ended up being there the 26th - 28th. The 26th & 27th were great weather. The 28th was good until the afternoon and then it started a light rain.

Ended up riding with one of my riding buds out of Reno on Wed. and then ran into a few guys Thursday morning and rode with them all day and again on Friday.

We ran the fence line Thurs and Fri.

The river was a little high Friday morning (some guy in a Toyota 4x4 must have got his stuck 'cause it had been towed out and had a forest worth of trees and stuff stuck under it when I pulled up at the gate. Between the high tide and the storm surge, the river was at its highest Friday morning.

Not too many people there Wed or Thurs. The crowds really started to show up on Friday though.

I think the next trip will be to Sand Mt. I like the riding there better. You have to give Pismo the weather though. Sand Mt. would be cold this time of year.

Jeff, when is your next trip?

Crap Mark, sorry about not hooking up with you over the weekend, we should have all made a meeting point somewhere. I decided to go after all at 4:55 Friday night. Oh well, good to hear you made it and the weather was sweet. That perimeter ride was a blast for sure. Anyway, we will all have to hook up for a ride soon, maybe sand mountain or back at Pismo again.

Hey BigJon:

Sounds like you were heading to Pismo as I was leaving. How did the weather hold for you over the weekend?

Good news is that I met about 5 guys out of the Walnut Grove area (south of Elk Grove). One with a DS (Black), one Raptor, two 400ex and then there were two other guys: Raptor and Warrior. I think four of them were growers and the other two were CHP guys (you can never know too many of them.)

I will be hooking up with them and we can get a little more serious about a good riding group out of Sac.

I have really only got into this in the last 5 mos. and it is amazing the number of people I have met. I gotta say, I am not afraid to go somewhere to ride by myself because I know I will always meet others to ride with. I would much prefer to go with a group though. The group I met seemed to have a lot of history together and it is not easy to include yourself in that kind of conversation.

Let me know when you are thinking of trips as well Jon.

I like the forum for the ideas on customizing the bikes but, I would rather ride slower than others than stay home for a weekend (working on customizing the quad) and not ride at all.
