Some new rumors
#1
Hey yall, just got back from my local Bomb dealer. The guy up there said there are "supposed" to be about 5 new models before the summer, about one a month. Heres what he said to expect:
1.smaller 400-450cc 4-stroke Sport Quad
2.400cc true sport-ute 4x4 to compete with the Wolverine & Scramblers, also hinted at no step-through
3.250-300cc 4-stroke Sport Bike, to compete with 250EX & Lakota's
4.250-400cc 2-stroke Hi-Po Quad, maybe even with a twin-cylinder engine
5.250cc-300cc Utility Quad to compete with the Recon & Ozark.

Out of those five rumored bikes, three are sport quads?!? For such a currently limited line of quads, one would think Bombardier would expand into all the utility markets before venturing into the sport quad realm. Even if Bombardier only comes out with ONE more new sport quad (hopefully the two stroke or 400-class as opposed to the entry level sport), I will be a happy man.
It would be nice to have a couple manufacturers specializing, or at the very least primarily concerned with, the sport side of the market (yes I know that Cannondale is already there...).

I've been talking with Bombardier representatives a good deal lately. They have made it more than clear that they want to develope into the leaders in the hi-performance ATV field. That's great news for everyone since no other manufacturer is going to want to let them take over by themselves. I will expect big things from the other builders as well.
Although some of these rumors are true, there are other exciting developments coming that are not even out yet. Trust me folks, Bombardier is going to be the ATV manufacturer to watch in the upcoming years. These dealers that are dropping the ATV line don't realize what they may be losing. I'm currently working on getting set up with a partnership dealer. My partner will handle the sales of new Bombardiers, and I'll handle the parts and mods[service as well I guess] With any luck, you'll be able to buy a new DS-760[or DS-703], straight from us.

Folks, I would love to divulge exactly what I know, but it just wouldn't be very smart for me.
I'm finally starting to develope a good working relationship with Bombardier, and if I open my mouth on the first thing they tell me, I might as well shoot myself in the foot.
Good thing are on the horizon! Not as extreme as some of the rumors I've heard, but better than others. If you were going to buy a bike now, go ahead. The horizon is still a moderate distance away.

If I remember correctly, Rotax is a part of Bombardier and Rotax supplies the engines for ATK dirtbikes. They also make the 1000cc V-Twin in the Aprilia RSV, Falco, and Futura. They also make the single in the BMW FS (similar or same as DS motor? I'm not sure) The point is that Bombardier has a lot of motorcycle engines as well as the PWC and snowmobile engines to chose from to develop new ATVs from. Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure somebody will). If half the rumors are true, it certainly looks like the next couple of years are going to be fun.

Nope, your right. Rotax has been a division of Bomb. since the early 70's I believe. (Bomb. bought Rotax) And yes rotax makes a large number of different motors for BMW and Aprila motorcycles, Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo water craft, Ski-Doo Atv's, and is the prefered motor among small aircraft pilots. (Ultra lights etc...) So anything is possible I guess. I would like to see a 4-500cc 4-wheel drive that does not weigh more the 700 lbs. for a change.

Well, Bombardier has some interesting designs and even though I don't really like the looks of the Utility quads I do REALLY like the look of the DS 650. I'm sure if they come out with some more sport quads that they will look pretty dang good. That step through design would scare me though. Imagine that on a sport and railing a corner and your leg slips through the step threw part... that would suck. I know they won't do that but it just crossed my mind.
