I was thinking of adding nitrous to my DS and I have a few ??'s
so here I go:
1)Does the fogger interfear with the flow through the manifold?
2)I ride like to jump my DS. Is it OK to jump with the extra equipment?
3)Is my set-up OK to run nitrous on (listed blow)
4)Is there any draw backs to nitrous, leaning out, back-fires,ECT.?
5)How long does a bottle last?
6)Cost of re-fills?
AND 7) DO YOU LIKE THE PERFORMANCE GAINS!!!!!!!!

Thank you for all your help!

OrganDonar
1)Does the fogger interfear with the flow through the manifold?
Maybe just alittle, not enough to matter
2)I ride like to jump my DS. Is it OK to jump with the extra equipment?
I think if the bottle is mounted well, you will have no problems
3)Is my set-up OK to run nitrous on (listed blow)
No problem!!
4)Is there any draw backs to nitrous, leaning out, back-fires,ECT.?
There will be a tuning period, start out rich then slowly lean it up.I never had a backfire
5)How long does a bottle last?
2 1/2 lb bottle about 5 to 6 runs,but can vary
6)Cost of re-fills?
$5 to $6 dollars
AND 7) DO YOU LIKE THE PERFORMANCE GAINS!!!!!!!!
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Jeffinrivercity,
Is the install hard?
I noticed you bottle is under your seat. Does the bottle interfear with your suspension?
How is the overall rideabality of your quad now that you have all the work done to it?
Do you still jump yours and ride on trails or do you mostly drag race?
What do you think of the NX system?

I know, alot of ??'s
thank you

My install was alittle harder than the typical install because of the dual carbs.
I think the NX system is a good system, but I didn't know much about it at the time I decided to install Nitrous so I just went with the Holley/NOS system.
I still jump mine the bottle clears no problem, though I dont do mega air jumps.
As as far as over all ridability, you dont notice anything different when off the bottle
These are some other good DS/NOS conversations
NOS is Cool

Jeffinrivercity, do you need to purge with such short lines? Thank you for the links, they are helpfull. It seems like Hemi is really pushing the nitro!! Have you ever heard of anyone having any serious problems under nitrous? Motor parts for the 650's are a little pricy. Honestly do you think this is a good idea?

Jeff, here is a few more (sorry about all the ??'s)
Does the weather affect the nitrous preformance, Pressure, Humidity, temps??
Can you take the bottle off? for instance if you wanted to run a MX track??

Thanks again

P.S. how does your micro switch work and where did you get it?

I know, they keep on comming!!

OrganDonor,
What I do after putting in a new bottle is hit the button a couple of times on the flats,(in a high gear)to make sure I don't have any air in the line's before hitting the NOS on the hill drags.By having the lines short from the solinoids you dont have the time delay of still sucking the remaining N20 out of the lines(like fly over the top)You could do some damage if the system leans out,but I make a habit of checking the jets every so often to make sure the feul jets are not clogged or blocked.I dont know anybody yet that has done damage to there DS on NOS.Cold weather and exteme hot tempatures due effect perfomance, also effects bottle pressure which needs to stay around 900 to 1200 lbs(I am installing a NX bottle heater)The less pressure the richer it runs, more pressure the leaner it runs.............The idea is to keep it consistent(to avoid having to re-jet all the time)
Don't know about humidity
I can remove my bottle when duning, then plug the hose,or just turn the valve off and leave it on(easy to take off..5 minutes)
The micro sw comes with the kit,but it is up to you to mount it.

If you're getting a NX system I'll try to get some pictures to you on my NX install. I've had it for about 4-5 months and it's incredible horsepower. The best price I found was from John Stewart @ Nitrous Warehouse 713-898-1795 kit # 60011 for $439 he's cool, has lots a story's and cusses like an old marine. But he is very knowledgeable and helped a lot.
For tech support w/NX call Johm Phillips @ 888-289-6261
A couple of things to caution you about:

1. use loctite thread sealant on all non- tapered fittings.- you don't want any leaks and at 1000psi it's gonna want to leak.
2. get a pressure guage - it tells you when the system is ready to perform at it's peak.
3. Don't run the stock rev limiter- you hit the limiter faster than you can blink and faster than you can shift and you'll have terrible backfires from all the build up in the cylinder and pipe when the retard comes off.
4. run a gas cap that is vented for good air flow or you may starve the motor for want of fuel while you're still pumping in the nitrous- super lean condition= good bye motor.

5 run cooler plugs ie. DR9EA

I also strongly reccomend a heater NX has a heater that is regulated by bottle pressure and not external temp. It will give you the edge over any other nitrous bike that doesn't have one. Maintaing proper bottle pressure is the key to power and reliability.
I choose to go with the 5lb bottles for obvious reasons. I installed the brackets under my seat (removed stock air box) and I can jump and run with no problems. I'll send you a pic of my mods to the throttle body on stock carb so you get an idea of the micro switch install as well as placement of other components for ideas. Let me know if you'd like them.
good luck and ride safe!
