NOS is NOT fuel, it is N2O. You are injecting NOS which fills the cylinder with air. NOS does the same thing as a turbo or supercharger. High compression is not needed for NOS or a turbo/supercharger. With high compression you will reach a point where detonation limits you from making more power. Lower compression allows you to run more NOS or more turbo boost without detonation, resulting in more peak HP, but some reduction in lowend torque. Retarding timing makes less peak power than leaving timing as is and lowering compression.

Lowering compression is for those who want more power than they can get due to detonation limitations. If you aren't pushing the limits on power you don't need lower compression.

Elementary Dear Watson, the question is not 'does it work' but how fast is it now?

I figured out that the Nos is $4 a pound and my 6 lb bottle will last for about 520 seconds or roughly 45-50 10sec runs with the 15-20 hp jets. The Alky around here is about $3-4 a gallon and a good day would take 10-12 gallons in Alcohol($40 a day). For two quads that is a lot of fuel to tote around. So day for day the Nos is cheaper to run and I only have to arm it when we race the 2 strokes. I got the kit for 275 from Macracing and will be dialing it in this weekend.

Man, that sounds sweet, but I can get Methonal(same thing) for 75 cents a gallon. when I had my 350x on alcohol I always bought 5 gallons for under five dollars, 6 dollars with a new can included.
Anyways, Coming to LS for the tune-in?(he he).

Hurycne and biggerisbetter- cats out, you two don't keep a good secret. I have one and i am not telling. I don't think a 15 shot will be enough though. the 25 might. Only time will tell.

14mins, hey man, are you talking about your Trinity kit. Anyways, I think you and Hurycne have gone way past my little'ol modded endcap. It's gonna suck not being in contention, but I bet I can still hang on those MAN RIDE'S.. I Idea is to let you guy's do all the Pioneer work and then I'm gonna pick your brains clean. Later.

14mins maybe you should let the cat out of the bag also because the numbers I have seen from Trinity's article for the 686 are only about 55-60hp and that was with major headwork done. I am tuning for 15-20hp to put me in the 65-70hp range. This poker game is coming to a close; I call and you have seen my cards time to show yours. Maybe 720? Maybe next hand.
