Pro-circuit

Hi everyone. As you all probably know, I'm a newbie here. I've been reading a lot of your threads and find them very informative. I just purchased my first DS650 about two weeks ago and have only gotten to really ride it hard once at Little Sahara in OK. I could tell that even for a stock ride it is an impressive quad, however, it could definitely use a pipe, filter and some jetting done for starters. Does anyone have a Pro-Circuit pipe? If so, do you run with the airbox lid per mfgrs. recommendations? I have narrowed my choices down to a Yosh or a Pro-C and if I purchase the Pro-C, I would like to open up the box and install larger jets than the factory recommeds with a closed box. Any Ideas?
Thanks, and sorry about the novel for a first post.

Welcome to the forum. Dont be sorry for the long post. Ask away and say what you want to say. Thats the way we all learn more about our rides here. I have the RWR pipe so i cant answere anything for you but I know the Yosh is supposed to be pretty nice.

Thanks guys. I notice that there's no shortage of test data available for Honda or Yamaha pipes, but cannot find a lot of dyno charts for the DS650 from different mfgrs. From the dirt wheels exhaust shootout performed on the Raptor, the Yosh and CT pipes looked to perform extremely well, and the Pro-Circuit showed a nice pattern considering that it was done with the factory airbox lid and smaller jets. All of the pipes tested totally outperformed the factory setup. I would just like to see the same pipe comparisons done on the DS650. Anyone rub elbows with any editors lately? LOL!
Thanks again.....

Hey SoonerDuner, I recently installed my Pro Circuit slip on. I have not had a chance to really ride the bike yet so I can't give you a "seat of the pants" impression on it. Here is what I can tell you.....Fit and finish is excellent. I prefer the looks of this type of pipe over the "supertrapp" type, but that is purely subjective. The installation was a piece of cake, and took maybe 10 minutes. The pipe has a "tune-able" end cap, so if you order extra end caps, you can go quiet (less H.P.) or not so quiet (more H.P.). The screen type spark arrestor is easily removable and service-able. The pipe sounds awesome, but it is on the loud side, however, seeing that it is a slip on, I can easily reinstall the stocker when necessary. I will be in Glamis in about a week and a half, so I won't know how the pipe performs til then. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Gottahavaraptor. I too like the looks of the Pro-Circuit pipe. The cosmetics are nice, plus it's made of great materials to boot. Have you removed or done any mods to your airbox? If so, how did you jet (I know that jetting will be different from our locations alone, but I'm just curious)?

No mods to the airbox as of yet, and right now I am running the stock filter. I may or may not be going with a Lectron carb soon,(in which case I will be removing the airbox anyway), so I am reluctant to "hack up" the stock box. Right now my jetting is all stock except for a 175 main......The guy at Pro Circuit told me to leave the jetting all stock. I will be going to Glamis in a little while, (about 300' elevation?), and I'll let you know how the bike runs then.
