Many folks have complained about the stiffness of the throttle on the Mikuni carbs. Even with the "soft" spring, effort is not near as light as the stock throttle.

I've been doing some work linking up my new induction deal to the stock throttle, and came across something so simple, I don't understand why none of us thought about it befor.

Inside the throttle housing itself, there is a return spring. Why not get rid of it? The return spring on the carb is as stiff as it is for use with a twist throttle, and that has no return spring. It's just too simple! and free to boot! I haven't done it yet, but plan on it for this weekend. I feel sort of silly for not thinking about this earlier.

If someone tries this before the weekend, let us know how it works. It may not make it perfect, but it has to help. Keep in mind, I haven't tried it, so if there is something dangerous that I'm overlooking, I don't want to be responsable for anyones injury.

Inside the thumb throttle housing itself, there is a return spring just take it out. The tm45 itself has a strong return spring, so you don't need one in the throttle housing..I know this has worked for me.
