If you could buy "any" top end, big bore utility atv, without consideration for price, which one would you get? Granted the Prarie has an advantage in the performance department, but without that performance advantage, which one?

I'm interested in using it for snow plowing, hunting, and an occasional trail cruise. My 400SS and SP500 are now both up for sale and I'm looking to get a new fat utility ride that is dependable. I don't want to spend a zillion $$$$ modifying, adding tires, wheels, clutch kits, pipes, etc. I want something off the floor that looks good, handles and rides nice and does the job. Snow plowing is of prime importance. In fact, I'm probably going to have to do something about eliminating the reverse rev limiter in any machine, since it is a real drawback to plowing.

I'm considering: Honda Rubicon, Polaris SP700, Grizz 660, Prarie 650, and the Quest 650.

Thoughts . . .

I'm no expert, but I think the SP700 is your machine, They come out of the factory with big wheels and tires and look pretty cool. And their heavy and powerful machines. GOOD LUCK.

I just got a Quest and it is awsome! It has excelant engine-breaking, in high or low range. You can go down any hill within reason in low range and not have to touch the brake once! In high range, at any speed when you let off the throttle, it slows you down very well, yet won't toss you over the handle bars. It also has enough power for anything you might have in mind. I had it over 60 the other day, and thats with the throttle limiter screw turned half way out! It rides very well for a straight axle quad, much better than the Traxter models. If reliability is a concern, then you can't go wrong with Bombardier. I don't think anyone will argue with you about that. This machine is a heavy-weight for sure. Most guys frown on this but the engine has plenty of torque and horse-power (i think it has around 42HP) to haul all of its 750+ lbs around. The weight also increases traction and stability. You won't find a more stable quad than the Bombs. The Visco-Lock all wheel drive system works exceptionally well and has a great reputation for getting out of sticky situations. Go to your nearest Bomb dealer and take a real good look at how these things are built! The are made to last. All the components are heavy duty (steel planetary gears, full steel skid-plate and the list goes on). Thats where those 750+ lbs come from. When you're done, go look at a Kawi 650 or a Grizz, you will be surprised at how weak they look, especially for "utility" quads. Well i guess thats all i have to say for now, but if i think of anything else i be sure to let you know!

FYI.
http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...ighlight_key=y
I'm sure it's an isolated problem.
The griz has had some gas boiling probs and a prob with the front left? drive shaft.
The polaris has had probs with the water pump.
I guess it's a crapshoot.

Given those requirements, I would personally look (and drive) the following; Quest 650 (or Traxter if you prefer manual), Rubicon and Arctic Cat 500.

My Quest has been awesome - take one for a spin and see what you think...
