Need some advice
#1
I am about to start a little project on my DS. Last year a friend wrecked my DS and the total damages included a bent axle, busted head light and destroyed to right a-arms and tie rods. I took it to a seemingly credible shop which luckily will remain nameless (you know who you are). I had to go to school earlier the morning after the wreck and dropped it off at the shop with a note explaining what I needed to happen in order to get it out for the next race in two weeks. The note specifically said to check the whole quad to see if anything else other than the a-arms was damaged. I talked to the guy constantly during the two weeks, and apparently the arms were on back order?? When the race had already gone by, he finally got the machine done. Me being stupid paid for it and picked it up. I took it home and checked the work. The a-arms were wrong (off the 2001 model)(maybe thats what took so long). The headlight supports were broke and the axle was bent. Apparently all of this stuff was over looked. When I went back the guy denied all of it and practicall wouldn't talk to me.
Anyway getting away from my sob story I have a few questions. I see braided brake line on ebay all of the time will this work on 2001 a-arms, because i noticed the bend of the brake line on my 00 doesnt match the 01 arms. I also have to change one side of the a-arms. Which is easier to adjust or better performing the 00 or the 01 a-arms. I know their was a lot of steering problems with the older models can I fix this by puttin the 01 a-arms on. Next, are the Durablue eliminator axles as good as they say they are or is a stock axle just as good. Finally I was thinking of adding 2 small driving lights in place of the big headlights, is this a stupid idea or would it be easier to replace the stock one. Any help is appreciated.
