Rims??

I was woundering what rim thickness (.125,.160,.190) most of you dune riders use on your DS's. I know most riders with other quads use .125 for sand riding, but the DS is a bit on the chunky side.
I live in Pa so I use .190s due to the rocks and hard packed dirt, but I'm planning on taking some trips this year and I was woundering what rims I should get with my paddles.
Thank you

I think you can be pretty safe with .190's. They don't weigh that much anyhow. The paddles I have were a custom job, and they are the .125s but I don't do any jumping or anything that really endangers the thin walls.
I'm making a (cough cough) prediction that a pair of 2001 stock DS rear .190 rims are going to be sold on ebay very soon.

Wether or not you can physically do it I'm not sure. With douglas Rims from the factory, they come with a tag that has a check mark next to each type of activity you can do with Blue, Black and Red label rims. The Blue and Black had almost nothing checked (jumping not included in the checked boxes) while the Red Labels had several items checked, though I can't say for sure what the categories and exactly was checked on each since I threw the tag out figuring I'd never need it. So, as far as Douglas is concerned, the answer is No. As far as you buying .160's, I would guess you could get away with it, so long as you don't jump big or have any hard landings. I've never used .160s so I can't give you anything 'for sure.'
One reason I like the .190s the best, is I was riding with a guy on a Banshee who was taking Black Diamond trails in the top of 3rd gear, and he landed wrong coming out of the air and burst the rim. It wasn't the edge that was hurt, there was a hole blown through the flat part of the rim surface. I figured he must have had some of the thinner ones for that to happen, but he was sporting .190s that day.
