Very odd indeed. The 1" cap I'm measuring is 1-3/8" in outside dia., and the 1-1/4" cap I'm measuring is 1-5/8". Different PVC brands must vary in wall thickness I guess.

thanks for the info hightower, now i can understand why some people i've told this to, said it didn't fit.

Cool man.

By the way, have you noticed your filter/outerwear staying cleaner since the snorkels are gone?
It seems that their position up front was like a sand funnel, sucking in everybody's roost (not that I make a habit of being behind). Now that I'm set up like I am, I'm finding less crap in the box. Ironic, isn't it?! Creeks don't bother anything either, the seat wraps the sides quite nice to keep splashes out. I took two feet of water, over my tires, a couple days ago at a decent speed, and not a drop got in. I thought it was shallower than it was, it nearly threw me over the bars when I hit it, and the first thing I did once I cleared the creek was stop to check my airbox - it was dry.
