Has anyone had a chance to try out the Kenda Geckos on their DS yet?
If so, could you let us know how they performed? I checked on some and found out that they were on back order. I was just wondering if they would be worth the wait...

Sooner, I just got my maxxis rooster's(m982l&r) mounted on the wheels Monday, and hopefully will get to test them out. Nice looking tires!

 

I tried them the weekend before Easter on a DS. They hook up great and turn very easy.
Only problem was people behind me complained about 'hanging sand'. It does throw up a huge roost that seems to hang forever.

Mike, what tires did you have on before the Gecko's? Did you compare with any other DS riders on your last dune trip. They are unique looking and if they work well I will have to get some!!

 

I was at Little Sahara last Saturday and a guy was in the shop trying to trade a new set of Gecko's for some Skates or Skat Tracs. He was riding fairly well modded Banshee. Said the tires hooked "just not as well as other tires he had tried in the past"

I have a friend that's an aggressive rider, we were at LS last weekend and he had a new set of Gecko's...

Before we went out (he'd ridden a couple times before I got there), he mentioned that he was having trouble getting them to turn, and they'd slide out unpredictably at times...

After our first day of riding, he was pretty fed up & not riding really well... The next day he went to the buggy shop and bought a set of Sand Skate II's (tried to trade the Gecko's, but they weren't interested).

After that, no more complaints from him, and from riding with him on the trails, the difference was night and day.

He did mention that straight line traction was fine with the Geckos.

When riding behind him I noticed more roost from the Skates than from the Geckos....
