Im in s. cal also and looking to buy, what dealer so i can go check them out too. im gonna get the baja. thanx maybe give us a discount if we go together.

Hey Ben, have you considered looking at the Baja? The extra equipment and the much better tires make it a better buy if you can get the price close to the DS. Just a suggestion. Good luck with the salesmen, got any chain mail underwear?

I bought my yellow 01 in Northern Utah in Nov 01 for $5600 OTD.

Right about now most of the SoCal dealers are bracing for the end of the "season", meaning they won't be selling many dirt bikes or quads till next spring. Summer prices on dirt machines in SoCal can be very reasonable. Also, with the Baja out there are fewer buyers looking for a standard DS. With this in mind I'd try to really stick it to 'em. I got my DS last August for $6,400 O.T.D. with 6.5% financing from Bombardier. Good luck.
