I kinda got used to the thaught of a 6 hour drive to NV but I have to agree with Knutz, if they don't want us there then f@*#-em. The only problem with that is that they don't care that we don't show, in fact they'll be happy if we don't. So I would prefer sand mtn NV just so our presence can remind the rangers that its public land.

On the other hand, if it does get moved, I think I can warm up to the 11 hour drive to LS and check out what everybodys been talking about.

I agree with JSsDS it is public land !!! IF they dont like it tuff poop! There is nothing they can do about it! Iv'e done two riding trips this year one to glamis and one to dumont. I dont think i can do another 1000 mile plus trip again this year.

If you guys are doing this on Labor Day then KOTH is being held at Little Sahara, Utahs Sand Mtn. They race up the face which is the steeper side. It's much taller and just as steep as Comp hill at Dumont. Oldsmobile at Glamis is a speed bump in comparison. There are class's and four strokes are invited. Anybodys invited. Ohton Racing, Dan Hull, K&T, Packard Ent, and many more big name builders will be here to show off their extravagant quads to lay down who's the best. Will it be crowded, yes. It will be anywhere you go. It's a great spectacle for those who haven't seen hillshooting. It is closer too, for people coming from the east. Ten's of thousand of acres of dunes to explore.....

A question for the locals of LS Utah. Are there places to park the toy hauler and dry camp other than in the camp sites, like at dumont or glamis? Camp sites are ok but I'd rather be out in the open, no rules, no quiet time etc..

You can park right at the base of Sand Mtn. If you don't need sleep then go there as people run up and down the mtn until three or four a.m. You can park in the Cedar trees just outside of the Oasis campgrounds. It's actually closer to the dunes. Oasis is around 4-5 miles from Sand Mtn and the same to the other direction to White Sands campgrounds. It's a nice ride over to either area. Sand Mtn area can get very windy and dusty.

Sounds like a huge place. I can only picture the places I've been and in all those cases you can pretty much camp where ever you want. LS must have a wider varety of riding with limited access for dry camping. Just guessing here.
Just a few more questions:
Are there showers in the camp sites (for the women of corse) with warm water? Sure would be easier to get the wife to go if there is.
Whats the weather like there in the summer months May to Sept?
Thanks for the info

Hey guys, just got back from vacation and I'm trying to read everything I missed.

Little Sahara sounds good.

I'll be there for Mem. day for a little sneak peak.
