I just bought a 2002 ds650 baja. I put a FMF Power core 4 slip on muffler on it and was thinking of getting the K&N Power kit for it. The question I have is does it make that much of a difference and is it hard to get the jetting and needle settings right?

 

You can get the power kit or buy a handful of larger than stock mikuni main jets and a k&n air filter to re-jet. It will make a noticable difference! There is plenty of jetting info available in this forum. Just do a search and take a look at the info on my website for some comparisons. The power kit comes with jetting instructions but you can also get good results using mikuni main jets and the stock needle.

 

I would just buy the hole kit. Instalation is easy and has a great instructions for jetting at diff elevations.(beware) The screws on the carb are really really tight! I MEAN SUPERMAN TIGHT!

Look in one of your mags and check out the pricing on their website for the best price. I think I got mine for around $100.
