Cool idea and when were done there you can jion us @ the baja 500,top of the world ,iron butt ,elsinor,nevada 200,herbst 250,dakar,Ect ECT.no what im saying here is every quad was built to specifics Except the 400ex any ways drag racing is just a way to get us all together and have fun!!!

ps: i belive that gray and red quad my son laped in the eloy mx tech. last week was a mighty cannondale opps did i say that out loud.

I agree with Andrew, stock for stock the DS will pull the raptor on top, in a long drag race. A smart raptor pilot will shorten the track. No more than a 3rd gear romp. Now when you open the checkbook dollar for dollar, the raptor wins everytime.

newDSlover, Where did you get you barnett plates and discs. I cannot find them...

something I forgot to ask. Are the DS's geared way higher than a Raptor? the guy on the Baja was in 5th when he crossed the finish line (100 Yards) & my Raptor was in 3rd. He said he had to keep shifting because he was hitting the rev limiter. If this is right how do you figure the DS can win in a long race when he was in 5th & I was in 3rd at the end of 100 Yards?

I don't know. They just have alot of topend. I raced a Banshee owner once. After my win he asked if we could race again so he could try & wind out 6th gear. I agreed & I still won. His comment was something about he didn't think a DS was that fast. I always heard the 01 Raptors were geared odd. like you went 60 mph in 3rd gear but 4th & 5th were over with real quick. The only time I notice it being geared too high is maybe crossing a creek & trying to go slow in first gear. Seems like I gotta slip the clutch. But now with the pipe it isn't quite as bad to just let it lug itself real slow.

Moose that is one of those rider factors. He shouldnt have been in 5th if you were in 3rd he was probaly lugging the motor.

Thats what I thought but he said he was hitting the rev limiter.
It didn't sound right to me.
