The Ds650 and Baja taillight is easily fixed....disconnect the brake light wire...and your problem is solved. I was riding at the 2002 Rattlesnkae Roundup at Little Sahara State Park and I went to the south campground to see what was going on and it was gettin late and i wa sheaded back and my taillight has failed me again and it was night and you are required to have a taillight. I had wheel lights on all four wheels, three headlights, a helmet light, and the Ds650 reflectors include that with all the chrome and aluminum and your gonna see this tank but no they wouldnt let me through. So i found an 1157 bulb installed it and my friends all said to disconnect the brake light wire and it hasnt failed me yet.

The brake light is the most important feature to my tail light, for the riding that me and my buddies do. We race through woods trails and wooded dunes, following close and trying to pass each other, and the brake lights are a major plus for staying out of the hospital.

http://www.signaldynamics.com/

Above is the site for the LED lights Billds650 speaks of, I copied it from his website.

Nice site Bill. Thanks for the info, I'll get one right away. We replaced many lights (100's)here at work with LED's 'cause they have no filament to burn out, but our source doesn't have them to fit an 1157 socket, glad to know they exist. How long has yours lasted so far?

if you have a pepboys auto parts store in your area, they also carry the led light for about 7 dollars.
