Can a stock Ds take a stock Shee in a drag race? My friend says i can't. But what does he know he rides a Trail Blazer. I just had to see if it was true or not. Thanks

A stock DS will take a stock banshee, if traction conditions are right and the rider doesn't screw up. This has been published in mags, and I've done it myself, and seen others do it. Its really easy to get a lot more horses out of the banshee though, so taking a piped one is not so easy. I'm trying to catch back up a friends shee right now, looks like I gotta go inside the motor next....they change pipes and reeds, we gotta go cams and valve springs...

They have a traction advantage too. The stock tires on the DS are just terrible. The DS has a gigantic suspension advatage on rough terrain, though.

A stock DS should take a stock Shee NO PROBLEM. A Piped a jetted DS ,will run neck&neck with a piped/jetted Shee. After that the Shee is cheaper to go to the next levels and beyond!

If you have a question concerning top speed, don't waste your time.....everyones quad is faster than any other.....you will never get accurate info.
DS rider says his is easily faster than anything else.
Raptor rider does the same
Banshee rider does the same
you see the way this is going, so I will stop giving examples.
By the way, mine is faster than all others and has never been out-dragged...lol

Well, my cousin has a 2001 Banshee. It has a booster bottle, pipes, K&N. We were out at St. Joe state park in Park Hills about 2 weeks ago. We lined up on the flats had somebody start us. I got the hole shot. Pulled about 2 bike lengths away by third. I got to top end of 4th, he got to the top end of fifth and we had to shut them down. He was starting to catch me. I think, after he would have got in 6th he would have taken me. My bike is stock for now. With a piped and jetted DS. Could be interesting.

My friends banshee is piped, booster bottle, performance reeds, all that intake and exhaust jazz, and our top ends were neck and neck for a long distance. Then he went with different compression using a new cool-head he just bought, and got rid of the TORS anti-over-rev devices that comes stock on shees, and it made quite a differnece. The raptor, DS and banshee are all fast, and how fast depends on how much you want to spend. One can always be modded to out-do the other, until the other gets modded too, then its back to the drawing board for all.

I'll have to ask bansheewarrior about that, he'll probably say the carbon fiber reeds are best for the DS...LOL

Hightower, don't laugh too hard... The DS Reeds are exactly equal as a performance enhancement as your friend who removed his "TORS anti-over-rev" device.
