The best way I can explain it to you is to tell you to go ride your 10 speed bicycle. You know how you can change sprocket sizes on the front sprocket, the largest one will give you more speed ,But is harder to peddle. and the smaller one is EASY to peddle but you don't go as fast on top end. And the rear spocket works the excact oppisite as the front. Just think of yourself as the motor, and find a "Combination" of front and rear spockets that will allow your leg strength(motor) to give you the speed you want, without loosing power UP hill.
