Well since you guys aer on the topic of coolent I have a question. Every 6 rides or so my overflow tank in empty. I have checked the oil and no water and I cant find any leaky seals of gaskets I have just been filling it back up and riding. I was just wondering if you guys have any ideas on where the coolent could be going. The quad runs great and everytime I open the radiator after the quad cools down it is full to the top. I am at a loss.....anyone ???

Update, got my water pump seals replaced. Leak fixed! Went ahead and ordered a new waterpump shaft and 2 seals and o-ring for the waterpump housing. I replaced the shaft because it had some grooves cut into it and this article F650 Water Pump repair FAQ.. and some pictures that Thefasterthebetter sent me really made ths job easy.It wasn't that hard to do. Similar to replacing/changing clutch/springs. I think I was running too lean, causing it to run hot with the direct mount k&n filter and mikuni 180 main. My leak showed up not too long after the carb mount filter/180 main jet combination. I am now going to try a 190 mikuni main, and some other sizes below that and will let you know how it goes. Anyway if anyone needs the pics/diagrams, or questions email away. Thanks to Mark and Jeff!

DSaholic, The head might have come slightly untorqued. What can happen is everytime you shut the motor down after the cooling system is hot and pressurized, small amounts of coolant can leak into the combustion chamber. On the next start, the coolant is flushed out the exhaust. I have seen this many, many times. I always use the level of the resivoir as an indication of my head being sealed.
You shouldn't have to add coolant to the resivoir every ride. The level in the resivoir should remain between the full and min levels week after week, assuming the cooling system was full to begin with.
