Sweet red DS there! Will a clearcoat help protect from scratches when trail riding?

Man that is one sweet looking DS. How many layers of paint did you use, and what of each kind. Is it hard, or expensive to do that? Where did you buy the paint, and did you apply it with an air-sprayer?

ADAM,---2,ENAMEL,NO,AUTOMOTIVE STORE,YES, (That was easyAdam I was amazed at how easy it is to paint. You could do all kinds of wild paint colors if you wanted.I have to keep changing colors so I'm not reckonized. That way when I sneek up on Jeff he won't know who it is. You could paint all the plastic for 80.00.

So, I just go to an auto parts store, like Napa Auto, and buy some primer with a flex agent in it, and some Auto Enamel with a flex agent in it, scuff up the plastic with a sander, and paint away? What is that bonding stuff DemonDS was talking about? and what kind of clear coat?

Adam,

I was told that the bonding agent is what alllows the primer to stick to the plastic. Actually it chemically bonds to it makeing a much stronger adhesion on the plastic than reling on it to just stick to it. The primer then bonds to it and so forth. I am just passing on what I was told. Someone else might be able to clarify of say they are full of it too. LOL
