My friends and I went to Little Sahara this past weekend. I sold the Sharks and bought the 20" 9 paddle haulers. I REALLY like them. I had a tough time making up my mind but now I know that I made the right choice. I was climbing the tallest, steepest dunes without even having to downshift most of the time. Also, when riding the top of the bowl, the haulers just seemed to cling to the side without having to rev. it up to the limiter. We had a blast, until the storm screwed things up.

Turning didn't suffer as much as I thought it would. Just give it a little more english and whip it around.

BTW, my damned shifter fell of in the dunes this weekend. It's not great fun riding back in stuck in 3rd gear. I guess as soon as it hit the sand, it sunk or got ran over. It may be a good idea to make sure the set screw is tight every once in a while. I never really thought about it, but will now. None of the shops had a shifter for the DS. After some measuring and browsing, a shifter for a 400ex fit perfectly.

Sooner... Glad to hear you are liking those haulers. I preach straight paddles all the time.

I hate to ask but how high & steep is the biggest dune there??? I thought it was fairly flat there???

Hey, now that you got a Honda shifter, nothing on your DS will ever wear out, break, become obsolete or get updated.... The Honda thing is contageous and your Bomb has been infected.

Hey WyoDuner,
I don't believe that "flat" is the word that I'd use to describe Little Sahara. There are places with much larger dunes but these are pretty good dunes. I think that there's a web site for Little Sahara State Park. I'll find it and post a link. Perhaps they'll have some information on the size of the dunes there.

Take care,
SD

Sooner, how did you get theEX shifter to fit?

I tried one before and couldn't get it on.

Did you tweak it? Cause I was thinking of a billet power shifter if it goes.
