American Racer makes a 20.0/10.0-10GT tire. Its softness measures 33 on the gauge. Its the same as the American Racer TT tires that you see all over the place in an 18in. size. I didnt even know that American Racer made them in bigger than an 18in. So it was a suprise when my parts guy called to tell me about them. These tires measure just slightly over 20 inches and I mounted them on 10x9 Douglas wheels that I got from Rocky Mountain ATV. they also make a 21/7/10 ?? (I think is the measurement).. I will be ordering them for the front soon.

I would ask if you could get a 38 or 44 compond as the 23 is the softest tire american racing makes and the 44 is the hardest, but still plenty soft for aspalt drag racing. The 23's will not last but a couple runs until they are gone,at the cost of around $100.00 each.
I race the local TT's on a clay surface and run a 38 compond in the rear& 23 up front, the tires are good for about 5 to 7 races and then they are gone.

Scratch that.... I was wrong. They are a 33 softness. I dont know where I got 23 from?????
All I know is that the tires I have are the same as my buddy is using on his 416ex. Except he is running an 18in. His tires have lasted dozens of runs down the track which means dozens of smokey burnouts in the box..

How is it in North Carolina,, I may be moving that way Very soon.
What is the weather like thru the year? I now live in California and am able to race almost all year round.
I could only wish to get dozens of races out of a set of 33's or even 38's.
After 5 or so races I give them to my friend in the Novice classes and he will run them for a while , but they do not perform that well on a TT cource once they wear Way down.

Are you running some sort of wheely bar too hold the front end down? If not, a more slippery rear tire would be a better choice. It would generate a little wheelspin and raise rpms.....after 10 or so feet, you would hook up hard with much more rpm's already built up.

Im not running a wheelie bar "yet". So far the fact that I weigh 305 pounds helps to keep the front down some. I think no matter what, the fronts gonna come up some without a wheelie bar. I ran the strip with the stock Kenda Dominators which would spin some. They actualy spun too much. The front end was down, but the tire spin definatly slowed me down. Im better off taking my chances with the front end coming up. I also don't have the suspension strapped down or anything. If I did, I know that would help some.

calquadracer, I have lived in NC all my life. Be prepared for the summers to be the hottest you have ever felt. Have you ever heard the term "its not the heat, its the humidity". Everybody has 95+ degree days, but only the south does it with humidity ranges in the 90s, so it feels like 105 or more. The best riding weather is September through November, and March through May. it can get cold in December through Febuary, but there are even some nice days in those months. Some of the TT tracks around here race from March through November.
