I have found about 6 sites that sell tachometers for 1 cylinder engins that measure upto 19,999 rpms..? has anyone tried it? heck they are only 39$ in most cases. I need to find what the update time is on them 1 is 3x's a second. What is the ronwoods? how does the ronwoods hookup? these just clamp or wrap on any plug wire... any help would be great!!

Analog, cause a quick galance is all you have time for. Backlighted for night riding illumination.

AS for hook-ups - mine gets a pos, a neg, and a signal wire teed into one of the coil wire spade terminals.
I don't know about update time.

The Ron Wood tach is made by the same company that makes the Bomb Baja tach, the only difference is that the Bomb tach says Bomb inside it. Company is Autometer I think - check the web, maybe you can get it direct for a little cheaper.

Ditto on the analog. A shift light would be the ultimate setup, but if you can't get one then turn your analog tach so that when you hit your shift rpm thwe needle is in the 12:00 o'clock position. Then when the needle is at 12....shift.

Yes the Tach for the Baja is made by Autometer. I would look into getting on through Summit Racing (SummitRacing.com). Here in Canada it is one of the cheapest ways to order AutoMeter guages. You will probably need to call Autometer themselves to get a part number for the right tach. Or maybe ask Summit for a 3.5 inch sport comp tach for a one cylinder.

And then, once you get an Autometer you can order the rubber mounting bezel from Bomb to secure it to the hole you'll cut in your dash. If you're not confident in cutting the hole, you can order the Baja dash with the hole already in it.
I bought a tach kit from Bomb right when the Baja came out, and it came with the mount too, for $109, but now they've gone up to over $200 for some reason!
