i was wonderin if i could just hook up a 4" car tach on my 2000 ds650. is this possible? wat would i need 2 do this?

I know how to set up the tachs that are from ron wood racing...
I will email you a diagram.

i got ur homemade picture, i get the positive red from the switch and a black ground wire but wat is the other wire? i couldn't read the diagram, where does this wire come from? thanx for all the help!

I dont know what it is called, but if you are looking at your ds from the front, look to the left and there is a 4 x 2 inch gold thing that is shaped like in the pic i gave you it is kinda hidden behind somethings...

Just post again if you need more help...

If you are successful installing an aftermarket tach for auto's please tell us. That would be sweet, Autozone sells tachs that look exactly like the Baja tach for $80 bucks, Do tell if you are successful>>

This will not work!!!

Standard autometer tachs are setup for a +12V squarewave signal. The Ron Wood tach is modified to trigger off of a 350V CDI signal.

I dont think it will work either because most tachs are made to run with a 4,6, or 8 cylinder engines. just my 2cents.

What if you use a snowmobile tach???
I dont need a tach but i am just tring to help those who do need one.
