Ok, the Ennis speedway is !/4 mile drags, so I would like to know what gearing everyone running at Ennis is using? I have 22in Bandit tires, Piped/filtered. I need to be FAST to keep up with some cars, and other quads. I was thinking 14/40 maybe?

Hey hey, no soliciting speed secrets before the races lol. You don't have to worry about cars because we can't run against them. What you need to worry about is us raptors

Ok, well then PM me for the gearing if you don't want to tell your speed secrets. We can't? What can we run against? I don't think I will have to worry about you too much. If I show up, and the quad is running good, I will expect to race you.

We can only race other quads and motorcycles. I'd help you with gearing but I know nothing about the bomber gearing, when I ran last week I went up a tooth on my front sprocket. I'll probably bring my stock out and swap out to see the difference.

Adam- gear for the 1/8 and just run it out. Use whatever you were using in aledo. Show up and i might let you run a real quad thru the 1/4 . It is not hard to outrun mustangs/camaros in the 1/8th. The quarter is different.

Well, I might have a change of plans. I'm sure I'll be there, but I think the quad will be in the shop. Oh well.

I did a search and found this topic. But no solution. I am planning to run some 1/4 mile tracks this summer. Anybody have a suggestion for gearing? I will be running 20 inch Hoosier tires..

Run TALL gearing!! 17/36 and take the rear plastic off. Make yourself as small as possible after 2nd gear, and rev out 4th gear(all the way) before you shift in to 5th.

Last year when I ran the 1/4, I was geared for 1/8, and still ran 15 sec. so I would think you could accomplish 14 sec. easy.

the 15-43 is for sand and hills it works good there, on pavement a easy deal is 17 front, but i think biggers idea is even better, seems i have even seen a 18 front sprocket.
