Finally I am the owner of a DS and was wondering if there were any suggestions on engine break in? After seeing all of ScoobyDFW's problems with his oil pressure light and synthetic oil foul up there is reason for concern. And now metal shavings? Book says 10 hrs of 3/4 throttle. Let me (us) know. PS...Good luck ScoodyDFW.

With any engine break in you should try and vary your rpm and try not to exceed the 3/4 throttle the manual suggest. You should not run your engine at one rpm for extented periods and giving it full throttle is ok after the first few hours just don't hold it and let it rev to the rev limiter, be gentle but firm you don't want to baby it to much either. The break in oil change will be your most important one in the machines life and it is normal to see a very small amount of metal in the first oil change. After the first oil change I like to go another 10 to 15 hrs. and change it again, kinda expensive i know but oil is cheap insurance. Hope this helps, Daniel
